Beauty Bargain - MUA

Occasionally, I like to poke around places like Boots & Superdrug, just to see what's on offer. Although I love my high-end brands, I prefer to buy mascara from cheaper brands since I only keep a tube for a couple of months. Plus, I'm a little like a giddy kid in a sweet shop around make-up stands. :)

During my last visit to Superdrug, I happened across a small display for a brand I hadn't heard of before, MUA Makeup Academy. It wasn't a huge selection, but there were a fair few bits & pieces. Being the eyeshadow junkie that I am, I swatched a few on the back of my hand. I've got to tell you that I was really surprised by how good these are. Very soft texture, extremely pigmented & incredibly colour-true to the pan. Both the matte & shimmery finishes were like this.

I then came across the glitter eyeliners. These are just as good as the Urban Decay glitter liners. They go on smoothly & are packed full of glitter flecks.

The best part? Everything in the range was being sold at £1. It's an absolute bargain. I'm not sure if that's a permanent price or just an introductory offer. At that price, I thought it'd be rude to not take advantage. I snapped up one eyeshadow & two glitter liners.

These have no names, unfortunately, just a shade number. This is Shade 10, labelled as a Pearl finish.
The actual colour is a black base with blue & purple shimmers. The texture is great, soft & seems like it would blend out well (I haven't used this properly as yet, just swatched it). Fantastic pigmentation, it doesn't come out wishy washy.

Glitter liner Shade 6 is hot pink with a violet sheen, not unlike MAC's Crystalled Pink glitter. It won't be a super obvious liner, but I bought it with the intention of using it as something to layer over hot pink shadow.

Glitter liner shade 8, a stunning green glitter. This absolutely pops & is loaded with emerald green sparkle.

I don't know if the price is still £1 per item, but for UK girls, it's worth checking.  Decent quality products at a ridiculously cheap price, what's not to love?

  1. I have a purple with blue duochrome and a brown with green duochrome from MUA and they are so amazing, especially for the price. Better pigmentation than some MAC shadows I have! x

  2. Funnily enough, when I swatched this one in the store, I thought that it was better than the last lot of MAC shadows I got.
The purple with blue duochrome sounds stunning, I'll have to go & take at look at that one! ;) x
