MAC - Quite Cute

A very small haul from this collection - just the quad & the screaming pink goodness that is Candy Yum Yum lipstick.

Although I'm not huge on pastels as a rule, I do rather like this quad. I've only used it once since I got it, but can see it getting more use for those days when I feel like doing something a little more understated.

The four shades in the quad are Moshi Moshi, Goody Goody Gum Drop, Boycrazy & Azuki Bean. Although there's no matte shade, it's not all extreme shimmer: Goody Goody Gum Drop is a Satin finish.

Moshi Moshi!

Described on MAC's site as being a "pale white green gold". I didn't really get much of a gold cast to it, yet there is a very slight green tinge there. It's not as obvious as something like White Gold pigment, where the green sheen is quite vivid.
Moshi Moshi! only took a couple of swipes of the pan to get enough on my brush. It isn't a stark white, it's quite subtle yet still apparent it's there.

Moshi Moshi!, Sugar Shot, Nano Gold & Casa Blanca

As the swatches demonstrate, I haven't really got anything quite like this one. I chose shadows that looked closest to Moshi Moshi! in the pan. I neglected to include White Gold pigment because it's much more vivid, I wanted to compare it to more subtle shades.

Goody Goody Gum Drop

Light white pink is how MAC have labelled this shadow. From that description, it would seem like Pink Freeze would be pretty much identical. Not so. This is more pink & far less frosty. On the lids, it is a pretty, subtle pale pink.
It is well-pigmented, not much was needed to get a good layer on, but as it's a pastel, it's not going to be extremely obvious.

Goody Goody Gum Drop, Ego, Pink Papillon, Da Bling & Pink Freeze

The closest match is with Pink Papillon, although that is more frosty than GGGD.  As the picture shows, Pink Freeze is more of a stark, icy pink.

Boycrazy

Nice, slightly shimmery pale lavendar with silver shimmers. Whilst it is a Lustre finish, it lacks that slightly gritty texture that some Lustres have. There is a chance of some glitter fall-out, but on the whole, this is one of the better behaved Lustre shadows.

Boycrazy, Dreamy V, Beautiful Iris, Crazy Cool

Swatching Boycrazy was a little surprising, I could've sworn that I'd got at least one shadow that was more or less identical. The most similar-looking pans were pulled out & I found that they're all a touch more blue-toned than Boycrazy. I thought that Beautiful Iris, in particular, would be very close.

Azuki Bean

Great pigmentation on this particular shadow. It's the darkest shade in the quad & could be used for a subtle, smoky look. Blends well.

Azuki Bean, Memorabilia, Satellite Dreams

Azuki Bean was a hard one to find shadows to compare with. None looked a similar tone in the pan. The closest is probably Memorabilia, its far less frosty finish leaves it without the silvery sheen of Azuki Bean. Satellite Dreams does have the silvery sheen but is far more purple than Azuki Bean.

Candy Yum Yum lipstick

The picture doesn't do this gorgeous pink any justice. It's far more bright than the picture shows.
A matte finish, but somehow unlike other MAC matte lippies. I found it to be less drying on the lips which made it more comfortable to wear.

Candy Yum Yum, Show Orchid

The only thing I could think to swatch it with was Show Orchid. Both vivid, bright pinks, Show Orchid has a purple tinge to it. Once again, this picture has muted Candy Yum Yum somewhat.
