I've recently seen a number of mani's that were done using a sponge to apply colours. I thought the effect looked really pretty & decided to give it a go myself.
This is my first attempt; the Northern Lights mani.
To get the Northern Lights effect, I used;
- Zoya Indigo - base shade
- China Glaze Icicle - sponged on over Indigo
- China Glaze Blue Sparrow - sponged on over Icicle
- China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise - third colour applied using a sponge
- China Glaze 2030 - applied sparingly with a sponge
- China Glaze Techno - for the glitter effect
These are amazing! How long did it take you? I'm a bit of a nail art novice haha. I'm certainly going to have to try this myself!

Thank you!
DeleteThese didn't take too long to do because it's best to sponge the colours on to the base before it's completely dried. Everything blends in together that way.
I'd love to see some photos when you try it out.
This is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liza.
DeleteI liked these because they're not too messy to create. Having narrow nails usually means I end up with polish all over my fingers. :)
