Four new polishes for me, all from Deborah Lippmann. There's the Get This Party Started box set which includes three glittery shades & a single polish, Makin' Whoopee.
Get This Party Started includes Happy Birthday & two shades along a similar theme but with coloured bases. Candy Shop has a bubblegum pink base whilst Forget You is a black-based glitter shade.
Happy Birthday |
Clear base packed full of multi-coloured glitter in various sizes. A couple of thin coats adds a pretty glittery finish to any base shade. You could probably get a solid, glittery nail from this but it would require several coats. Because of the sheer amount of glitter in this, it can be a bit of a chore to remove but it's worth it for the great look it gives.

Candy Shop |
The glitter is very similar to that in Happy Birthday but this time with a bubblegum pink base. I was quite surprised by Candy Shop, the bottle lead me to think that the base would be very sheer & have quite a jelly-ish finish but it only took two coats to achieve the shade in the bottle.
As with Happy Birthday, the glitter can cause a bit of a headache when it comes to removal.

Forget You |
Happy Birthday's glitter suspended in a black base. Because of the removal issue, I found this to work best if you apply a coat of Forget You over a black creme polish. You still get the great glittery effect but there's less to remove.
Forget You |
The whole of the Get This Party Started set is beautiful. Great glittery effects and all applied easily with no skipping or dragging. The only issue is removal, but if you're used to glittery polishes of this kind, you'll know exactly what to expect.
Makin' Whoopee |
Makin' Whoopee is a great hot pink with a blue shimmery tinge to it. Applied really well, no skipping or pulling. For best results, two or three thin coats is the way to go.

Love them!!! Too bad these polishes are kind of unaffordable when you live in the Netherlands
ReplyDeleteYep, jealous here LOL xox
They are gorgeous. Some of the China Glaze polishes have similar glitter effects (and are cheaper) but I haven't seen one that's a good dupe
ReplyDeletefor Happy Birthday as yet.
