Nails - Pink Leopard Tips

I've been a little slack in the nail department of late, mostly, I've been sticking to plain mani's in just one colour. Yesterday, I decided to do something a little more creative. Pink Leopard Tips is the result, but it was a bit of an accident. I tried something else first, wasn't pleased with the result & ended up doing this instead.

Three Holiday Season Mani's

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you all had a great time over Christmas & on New Year's Eve.

To kick off 2012, here's three mani's I did over the holidays. The reoccurring theme being holo polishes!

The first one is the most messy, sadly. I have quite small finger nails & this required a bit of fiddling around with the polish & remover on cotton buds. I think I may need to invest in a fine brush specifically for this purpose.

For this one, I used the following:

• China Glaze IDK- base shade
• Konad plate M69
• Special Polish in black
• Glitter Gal Black
• Metallic silver nail art pen

Nails of The Weekend

Couldn't think of a name for this particular mani. Purple was the colour of the night, so the nail look was based around that. I chose my favourite purple of the moment, Illamasqua's Poke, threw in some silver, some glitter & animal print.

The products used for this mani were -

• Illamasqua - Poke for the purple
• Zoya - Trixie for the silver
• China Glaze - Nova, a very thin layer to add a bit of sparkle
• Konad plate M69
• Special polish in black

The glitter was a touch more obvious in person, but I didn't want to over-do it, it would've overwhelmed the purple.

Ignore the middle finger. As usual, I was messing around before it had dried completely & it smudged a little. I really ought to learn to wait until my nails are properly dry before doing things.

Spotty Nails

Got a couple of new Konad plates, so I decided to test out the cute polka dot pattern. This was a little more messy than I would have liked. I used sticky tape to mask off the tips as I didn't want dots on them. Unfortunately, it left a sticky residue that made the pink section look a little scruffy. The nail art pen I used to create the lines smeared when I applied my topcoat even though I must have left it for over an hour before actually applying the topcoat.

For this look I used -

• China Glaze - White on White (base shade)
• China Glaze - White Cap (over White on White)
• Essie - Flirty Fuchsia
• Konad Plate M79
• Black special polish
• Black nail art pen

I would try this again, but next time I'll use nail polish remover & a cotton bud to wipe off sections of the base to replace with the pink rather than using sticky tape.

Nails - Jealousy & Gilt

Today's nails & I'm back on to the brighter colours. I decided to do a pattern on just the tips, rather than all over for a change. A bit of glitter seemed right thrown in there too.

What I used for these -

• OPI - Who The Shrek Are You? (base colour)
• China Glaze - Medallion (a thin layer for the glitter)
• Konad plate M62
• Black special polish

Nails - Shades of Grey

Yesterday's nails & I managed to leave the neon & animal print alone for once. My matte topcoat was looking neglected, so I decided to experiment a little. I usually use it over dark, shimmery polishes, so I decided to try it with something lighter.

80's Nails Part 2 - Neon Wild Cat

Yes, I'm back on my 80's nail kick. There's just something about neon polish & animal print combos that I can't seem to stay away from. Could be my love of hair metal is the root of the problem. :)

Anyway, this one is a very vivid combo of orange & yellow, two shades I don't usually go for much but it worked well for this particular mani.

A little messy there but it doesn't look so bad after I cleaned it up a little. Should have done that before I took pics.

For the Neon Wild Cat look I used -

• Essie - Funky Limelight
• China Glaze - Sun Worshipper
• Konad plate M69
• Special Polish in black

As bright as this may look in the pictures, it's tame compared to how vivid it is in reality. Neon is definitely the best way to describe it.

80's Nails!

Got a bit bored yesterday & decided to do something fun with my nails. It turned into this 80's-inspired mani that I loved once it was done.
Originally, I tried using three colours on each nail but, due to my nails being quite small, it didn't work out.

For this nail look, I used the following:

• China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise
• China Glaze - Pink Voltage
• China Glaze - In The Lime Light
• China Glaze - Flying Dragon
• Konad plate M57 & black special polish

Definitely one I'd try again, using the same colours & also with different combinations.
