Urban Decay - Electric Pressed Pigment Palette

Like your neons? Then you'll want to take a look at this - the new Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment palette.
Ten shades in all, eight of them brand new colours, all of them bright.

The back of the box shows the colours inside & that a double-ended brush is also included.
The actual palette is made of a sturdy plastic, and the lid houses a decent-sized mirror. This is definitely packaging that will stand up to travelling.

Sugarpill - Smitten Limited Edition Loose Eyeshadow

Wow, I haven't done a post in a long, long time! Must try to make sure I update more often.

I decided to my first return post about the utterly fantastic Smitten loose eyeshadow by Sugarpill Cosmetics.
Smitten is another of those gorgeous limited edition shades. I'm not at all adversed to a limited edition, but when a company does practically every item as LE, it takes the sheen off. Happily, Sugarpill do it just right - the occasional LE item popping up every now & then.

Sugarpill - Cold Chemistry Eyeshadow Palette

The latest palette from Sugarpill Cosmetics comes in the form of Cold Chemistry. If you'd thought Sugarpill were all about the bright colours, this is the palette that will change your mind.

As ever, this is beautifully packaged. The actual palette comes with a slip cover that also features the shattered glass artwork.
Slide that off, and you'll reveal the palette. Instead of the square design of previous Sugarpill palettes, Cold Chemistry is a longer format, with the shadows lying next to each other.

Sugarpill - ElektroCute Neon Pigments

The latest pigments from the fabulous Sugarpill Cosmetics come in the form of the ElektroCute collection. There's five shades, each a neon hue with added sparkle.

When these were announced, I was itching to get my hands on them. Yes, I'm forever a slave to a good, solid black eyeshadow, but I like to add bright colours in there for fun.

The five pigments are Supercharged (orange), Hi-Viz (yellow), Love Buzz (pink), Hellatronic (blue), and Sparkage (green).

This is going to be a picture-heavy post, so bear with me here.

First up is Supercharged.

Sugarpill - Asteria Chromalust

Recently, the fabulous Sugarpill sold some limited edition items. Being a huge fan of their products, I had to check out the limited Chromalust loose eyeshadow in Asteria. I was lucky enough to be able to get my hands on one of these little pots of gorgeous goodness.

As always with Sugarpill, the attention to detail on the packaging is spot on. For Asteria, the box & lid of the pot are white, instead of the usual black packaging of Chromalusts.

Kat Von D - Ladybird Eyeshadow Palette

The newest palette from Kat Von D's Sephora line comes in the form of Ladybird. This is slightly different to its predecessors - every shadow in Ladybird is a matte finish.

As is standard with the KVD range, the attention to detail on packaging is stunning. A metal tin houses eight shadows, a mini pencil liner, and a mirror in the lid.

EOTD - Illyria

It's been an absolute age since I last posted a look. Anyway, this one is a bit rough & ready, I got the urge to do this first thing this morning. I did one eye only, no other make-up at all, it was a test run of an idea I had kicking around.

I'm a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer & its offshoot series Angel, with Angel being my favourite of the two shows. So, I got the idea late last night to do a themed look, the inspiration being the character Illyria.

Urban Decay - The Vice Palette

The minute I saw the new Vice palette from Urban Decay, I had to get my hands on it. Twenty shades of shadow & all of them previously unreleased - how could I say no to that?

It's only recently that I've developed a bit of a thing for the Urban Decay palettes, two of my favourites have been the Smoked palette & the 15th Anniversary palette. I think that the Vice palette may well end up becoming a favourite, too.

Urban Decay - Smoked Eyeshadow Palette

The newest addition to Urban Decay's palette line-up is Smoked. What Naked & Naked 2 do for neutral shades, Smoked does for deep jewel tones & smoky eyes.

Included are ten shadows, a full-sized 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion (matte black), a mini tube of Primer Potion & a booklet that gives step-by-step guides to different looks you can achieve using the shades in Smoked.

Urban Decay - Gunmetal Eyeshadow

The third colour I have chosen to put in my create your own palette from Urban Decay is Gunmetal. This particular shade has appeared in the original Naked palette and there's no colour difference between the two versions, although the single pan does seem a tiny bit smoother.

As with Blackout & Mushroom, I have depotted this for my palette, but it can be left in its original packaging.

Urban Decay - Mushroom Eyeshadow

Another of Urban Decay's newly reformulated shades, I chose Mushroom to add to my UD 'build your own' palette.

With the new shadows, you can choose to put them into a palette or keep them in their pans. Depotting is an easy task with these; just press on the underside of the packaging (where the label is), and it will pop right out.

Urban Decay - Blackout Eyeshadow

My ridiculous urge to buy black shadows hasn't subsided, I caved in & bought the single version of Urban Decay's Blackout from their newly-reformulated eyeshadow range. In my defence, it is to go in the UD build your own palette, although quite how much justification that is... either way, I like always having a matte black to hand.

Blackout has previously popped up in a couple of the Urban Decay pre-made palettes; Naked 2 & the 15th Anniversary palette.

Ignore the pink tinge on the shot of the packaging, it seemed I couldn't find a decent angle to get a good shot without it showing up.
This is how Blackout looks in its packaging. You can leave it in there, or pop the pan out to store in the palette.

It's not a massive chore to remove the shadow from the packaging, all you need to do is open the lid & carefully push on the label with the name of your shadow and out it pops.

Beauty Bargain - MUA Eye Primer

I've collected some of the MUA eyeshadow palettes, but I had no idea they now had a primer until a friend told me about it. She gave it a great recommendation, so I decided to hunt it down as I like their shadows & the prices on their products are unbeatable.

MUA's Eye Primer is a nude colour, it's quite light, so it works especially well for those of us with a paler complexion. That doesn't mean it won't work on darker skin tones, as it turns more or less invisible upon application.
The tube isn't overly big or bulky, it's not going to take up loads of room in your make-up bag.
Unscrew the lid & you'll find a doe-foot applicator, not unlike the old-style of UDPP.

Sugarpill - Heart Breaker Palette

The newest palette from the fabulous Sugarpill - Heart Breaker.

As with the previous palettes, Heart Breaker contains four matte shadows in bright, vivid colours.

The packaging on Heart Breaker is as stunning as always, but this time, the artwork on the front of the palette is blue, rather than pink.

Flip it over and the colours are illustrated and named, a really nice touch as you don't have to dig through your collection to find the shadow you want.

Sleek - i-Divine Bad Girl palette

Another day, another Sleek palette! This time, it's the Bad Girl palette, which is made of 12 stunning dark & jewel-toned shadows.
The box proclaims that it's a limited edition palette, but I've seen it in a few branches of Superdrug now. As with the Ultra Mattes Brights palette, it's priced at a very reasonable £6.99. As with all of their palettes, Bad Girl comes with a mirror in the lid & a dual-ended sponge applicator.

The palettes, regardless of edition, are all the same size & it's a good size to carry around for touch-ups. I have found that some of the Sleek shadows can fade a little throughout the day, even when used over primer, so being able to take it with you is a definite plus.

Sleek - i-Divine Ultra Mattes VI Brights palette

I'd seen some pictures of the Sleek Ultra Mattes Brights palette & decided I wanted to check it out. For £6.99 you get 12 eyeshadows, which is a pretty good deal.

The palette is a neat black that isn't huge, it will happily fit in most handbags for touch-ups. Opening the lid reveals a decently-sized mirror, two rows of shadows & a double-ended sponge applicator.

MAC - Hey, Sailor! Pigments

Although I haven't bought anything from the Hey, Sailor! collection from MAC, I do already have the two pigments, Naval Blue & Old Gold, lurking around in my stash. Because I've had these a while, they're in the older style of packaging, so they look different to the jars in this collection even though the pigments are the same.

Naval Blue pigment

Firstly, there's Naval Blue. Described by MAC as a "deep smoky blue", there's a hint of purple to this dark navy pigment. One of the more finely-milled pigments, Naval Blue has a frosty finish to it.

Illamasqua - Human Fundamentalism - Eyes

I recently went to my local Illamasqua counter to check out the Human Fundamentalism collection and, of course, came away with a few bits & bobs from the collection, as well a couple of other things. Some pieces that are part of Human Fundamentalism were already in my stash too. Since there's quite a few photos & swatches, I decided to break this up in to two posts. This one concentrates on eyes & the second, which will follow shortly, is all about lips.

The first item that grabbed my attention is the Powder Eye Shadow in Burst. I've been having a bit of a love-affair with teal recently, so I knew that Burst had to be investigated.
