Nubar - Teal Glitter

Because I was so impressed with Nubar's Reclaim, I decided to give some of their other polishes a go. One of the shades I got is Teal Glitter.

The texture of Teal Glitter is a good one for a glitter polish, it isn't too rough once dried. It applies easily & smoothly.

MAC - Hey, Sailor! Pigments

Although I haven't bought anything from the Hey, Sailor! collection from MAC, I do already have the two pigments, Naval Blue & Old Gold, lurking around in my stash. Because I've had these a while, they're in the older style of packaging, so they look different to the jars in this collection even though the pigments are the same.

Naval Blue pigment

Firstly, there's Naval Blue. Described by MAC as a "deep smoky blue", there's a hint of purple to this dark navy pigment. One of the more finely-milled pigments, Naval Blue has a frosty finish to it.

Nubar - Reclaim

Yes, it's another holo polish! This time, it's Reclaim from Nubar. This is the first Nubar polish that I've tried. What drew me to it is the shade; Reclaim is a really pretty grassy, mid-green with the linear holo effect that I have a problem resisting.

As with both the HITS & Glitter Gal holos, Reclaim is one of those holos that is a dream to apply, there's no dragging or skipping & you won't end up with little patches where the polish has been pulled away upon application of another coat, which is something I've found all to easy to do with the China Glaze holos.

HITS - Demeter

After being a little disappointed with Glitter Gal's Orange Sparkle, I decided to give Demeter from the HITS No Olimpo collection a whirl.

Although it's not quite as bright as I'd hoped, Demeter definitely comes far closer to the mark than Orange Sparkle did.

Glitter Gal - 10 To Midnight

Another gorgeous linear holo from Australian brand, Glitter Gal. 10 To Midnight is the usual stunning Glitter Gal holo effect in a charcoal grey base. Although this sounds quite similar to HITS' Zeus, they're not identical at all.

Illamasqua - Human Fundamentalism - Lips

Of the four shades of lipstick available as part of Illamasqua's Human Fundamentalism collection, I bought two & already owned a third.

There's also an additional Illamasqua lippie being thrown in here. It isn't part of the collection, but I thought I'd add it to this post.

First up; Apocalips.

A stunning matte teal lipstick. I've never seen one quite like Apocalips, as I have a thing for teal, I had to try it. For such an unusual lipstick colour, it's surprisingly flattering.
With a lot of matte lipsticks, I've found they can be quite drying, this isn't a problem with Apocalips. It's also hugely pigmented; you won't have to pile this on to achieve a good result.
