Glitter Gal - Dark Purple 3D/Holo

Since I wasn't head over heels in love with the shade of Glitter Gal Dark Purple Sparkle, I thought I'd get Dark Purple 3D/Holo & see if it was what I was looking for. The answer is a resounding yes. This has to be my favourite purple holo of all.

Outside in sunlight

It boasts the same quality of Dark Purple Sparkle; application is a breeze with no dragging or skipping. The base shade, which has more of a pinkish tone to it, is more my cup of tea & the linear holos are my first choice between linear or sparkle.

Glitter Gal - Blue 3D/Holo

Yet another of the stunning holo polishes from Australian brand, Glitter Gal.

Simply titled "Blue", this is an unusual blue holo; it isn't a mid-blue & there are no purple tones to it. The base shade is a pretty, bright sky-blue. The holo really pops in this one, especially in direct sunlight. Even indoors, the holo effect is still evident.

Look - Blurple

Yeah, a bit of a cop-out on the naming of this one, but I was somewhat stumped. Anyway, this was something I threw together to go & do a spot of shopping yesterday. I'm really disappointed with the pictures (something that happens too often, my looks pictures never turn out well), this looked so much better in person.

Sugarpill - Burning Heart Palette

I'm going to preface this post by saying that I do already own all of the shadows in the Burning Heart palette as singles too. Why would I buy them again as a palette? I'm absolutely ridiculous at packing. If I go somewhere & take make-up with me, I get carried away & put things in a "safe place" where I can't find them once I reach my destination or I promptly lose things. Getting these four colours in the palette seemed like a sensible option for a clueless packer, such as myself.
With that out of the way, on to the pretty pictures!

The actual packaging of the palette is sturdy cardboard with the pretty Sugarpill artwork on the top lid.

On the back, there's details of the colours contained inside. I absolutely love that the actual colours are illustrated, not just listed as names. Makes things so much easier if you're in a rush or a bit bleary-eyed in the morning.

Glitter Gal - Dark Purple Sparkle

If you've read any of my other nail posts, you'll have an inkling that I have a bit of a thing for holo polishes. Since I loved the last lot of Glitter Gal holos I bought, I figured I needed to try one of their purples.

Enter Dark Purple Sparkle.

Deborah Lippmann - Today Was A Fairytale & Mermaid's Dream

I've been so lazy about posting recently. Too much other stuff going on, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of it again. So, to kick things off, I decided to start with two Deborah Lippmann polishes I recently bought; Today Was A Fairytale & Mermaid's Dream.

First up is Today Was A Fairytale. If you like silver glitter, you'll love this one. The base is sheer, but there's a blueish-grey tinge to it that stops it from being just another silver glitter polish.

Today Was A Fairytale

As with a lot of the DL polishes, the glitter is a mixture of smaller glitter with larger, hexagonal bits scattered throughout. It's a very vivid silver, not at all muted. So far, I've worn this alone, you need to build up a few coats to get full nail coverage. It would also look stunning over a coloured base; I'm going to try it over Zoya's Trixie to get a really sparkly silver mani.
